Went for lunch, they had a great happy hour “deluxe set” that had lots to offer. Everything tasted incredible and the interior design was well done. The one small thing I wish was different was the music choice in the restaurant. 2010s pop music was playing kinda loudly, I feel like if the Japanese band Lamp was on (or something similar) it would have tied the experience together perfectly. Will definitely return though!

I made a reservation at this intriguing place after walking past it several times. I was on my way to see Becoming Led Zeppelin at Ward Theater. Nori Bar opens at 11am and I was seated at Table 7 (the 7th seat at the bar). There is a board … More

Soooooo good!!! Great food, service, and experience! I ordered the Spicy Ahi Tuna Roll, Blue Crab Roll, and the Blue Crab Truffle Kanimiso. Each sushi roll is perfectly made right in front of you. Would definitely recommend! More

Phenomenal service! I couldn't have asked for any better. My husband and I were looking for a solid "corner place" for sushi and we found it. Staff were extremely nice and the food was outstanding! Yes it's a bit pricey, but that is … More

This is an absolutely must try while in Hawaii. Nori Bar hand selected their prefered Nori straight from Japan, imports fish if it's not already caught local. Leena is an artist and is great at explaining everything she is doing. I would highly recommend the Omakase as it's a great deal for what you get. My #1 recommendation to my friends when they visit Hawaii

We went for lunch. The nigiri was so fresh, great proportion rice to fish. The hand rolls were among the best we’ve ever had. Seaweed was crisp, ordered less rice, fish again was divine. Highly recommend!!!

Oh my my. What a gem! We came in for lunch and ordered roll-makase. Best decision ever! All the rolls were fresh and the chef carefully paired garnish and brushed seasoning over some of the rolls to enhance the flavors. The rolls/sushi are served along with delicious adagashi tofu as appetizer, awase miso soup as mid-course, and green tea icecream as dessert. The edamames are complimentary.
We added uni rolls in addition. The chef added pretty good chunk of uni to the rolls and uni was sweet and full of flavors!
There were about ~15 counter seats inside. It's small and intimate.
Amazing experience! 1000% will be back!

The rolls here are generously packed at just $6–$7 each, it’s a great deal you can’t go wrong with. We’re obsessed with their truffle sauce; it elevates everything it touches with a rich, earthy depth that takes the flavor to another level.
While the nigiri flight is a bit on the pricey side, if you already know your favorites, ordering ala carte is the smarter and tastier move. Every cut of salmon we tried was top quality, buttery and fresh. And the A5 wagyu nigiri! An absolute flavor bomb, that melts in your mouth.
Seating is high-top tables with backless stools, which can get a little uncomfortable and the space can feel tight when it’s busy. That said, the service is warm, attentive, and perfectly paced for when your next dish arrives just when you’re ready.
For two people, we had around 24 pieces and our total came to $191, a surprisingly reasonable price for what felt like an omakase experience. Not only was it delicious, but we actually left feeling full and satisfied.

Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully executed dishes. We enjoyed the yakitori chicken skewers, blue crab, unagi, and 5-piece sashimi. The quality was excellent across the board. Cocktails were unique and well-crafted; both the Umami Old Fashioned and Sake Pina Colada were standouts.
Service was attentive and friendly, and you can tell the chefs take real pride in their work. The only downside is that seating is all bar-style and not the most kid-friendly setup. But if you’re looking for high-quality sushi and small plates in a modern, intimate setting, this place delivers.
Highly recommend for date night or a food-focused evening out.

We came in for Happy Hour. The poke trio was some of the best poke I’ve ever eaten. The fish was fresh and the service was excellent! You sit at a counter and order using the QR code. It reminded me of the sushi bars in Tokyo but with a modern spin. Definitely worth stopping in when you want a quick bite! More

This is probably the best spot in Hawaii for hand rolls. I can’t think of another place as fresh or as good as this. Watching Des work was amazing, and finding out she’s from Kauai made it even more special—I haven’t met many people here from there, so I really enjoyed our conversation. The staff is super friendly, and I love how everything is handled through the app—from ordering to paying—it just makes the whole process easier. The pricing is on par with what I am used to in Waikiki, but the quality and portion here is way better, which makes this my go-to place outside of Waikiki. I’m really glad I came.

I would never recommend anyone visit this place, they operate like a fast food chain and simply didn’t give a single drop of care for us. I did send my concerns to the owner, and I received back a chat gpt generated response with em dashes and spaces. The owner did not address or explain about the time situation, their chat gpt response simply stated “we will investigate within our team”. They also gave us tips on how to save money by ordering directly through their store (no thank you, you will not receive a single order from me).
Used to be a regular customer, bringing in lots of friends and guests. Lately, we started being treated “less”, and we have noticed the pattern. With time, the service got worse and worse. Not greeted, never given menus (we had no idea it was happy hour until another party next to us mentioned it), mainly ignored, and most recently, kicked out of the restaurant early as we were eating because they had “the next party waiting”. We are not blind, we see how you treat us.
We had a 3:45 pm reservation and arrived shortly before 4 pm. Instead of the 90 minute dining time listed on OpenTable, we were pressured to leave at 4:50 pm and had to pack our food in the middle of our meal for another reservation. We were rushed, repeatedly asked if we were done, and never given a proper welcome. We only learned about happy hour from another table, and the menu was provided almost an hour later when we asked for it. They took off “$4 happy hour shots” as we gulped them down because we were rushed as a “sorry”.
This was not the first time we felt overlooked. On several visits, other guests received warm greetings and complimentary items while we were ignored. I was even skipped on complimentary edamame while others received it.
We used to be loyal regulars from the day Nori Bar opened. I remember one of our first times was chatting with one of the chefs who told us about his music writer career and where they purchase the fish. We let him know that we live at Ward and would visit the Nori bar all the time.
I enjoyed Nori bar in the past. But after repeated poor service and a disappointing, impersonal response from the owner, we will not be returning or recommending this place again.
We are not welcome there, and it’s sad. You can find amazing fish, service, and vibe elsewhere. There are so many other incredible places in Oahu. For sure we won’t be spending our money at Nori bar ever again. It’s actually pretty expensive, and being treated like crap is not worth it.

My bestie and I did the Omaske (forgive me as the spelling is likely wrong) experience which is $80 a person. Absolutely worth it as it gently fills you up and takes you on a delightful sushi journey that ends with green tea ice cream. Absolutely recommend for a special outing out catching up with a friend or celebrating a special occasion with a loved one as all the fish was fresh and delicious. 13/10 will have again!
Some of the dishes I had are pictured below some of them were way too good to wait to take a photo of.
P.S. Be sure to make a reservation as the bar seating is limited

P We ordered delivery from this sushi spot, and it was absolutely fantastic! Every roll we tried was bursting with flavor and incredibly fresh. We ordered six rolls in total, and each one was delicious in its own way—carefully prepared, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented, even through delivery. The fish was fresh and tender, the rice was well-balanced, and the combination of ingredients created a delightful mix of textures and tastes in every bite.
Not only was the sushi flavorful, but it was also very filling—we felt satisfied without it being heavy or overwhelming. The attention to detail in each roll really shows the skill and care that goes into their preparation. The delivery was prompt, and the food arrived in perfect condition, which made enjoying it at home just as enjoyable as dining in.
Overall, this sushi exceeded our expectations. Every roll was a treat, and we will definitely be ordering from here again. Highly recommended for anyone looking for fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned sushi delivered right to your door!

Amazing quality food for a really good price! My husband and I celebrated our wedding in Hawaii and visited the Nori bar during this time and really enjoyed our time there. Not only was it some of our favorite hand rolls and sashimi, but the staff’s service was amazing. We were especially impressed by the attentiveness and quickness of the hand rolls chef! Everyone was so kind, making for an overall 10/10 experience.
